Wells were active from 1922 to 1978 and were well known for their charms & pendants. Indeed they were one of the leading manufacturers during the explosion in popularity of charm bracelets during the 1940s and 1950s. This has led to them being highly sought after by vintage charm collectors. The airplane is one of their recognized designs.

This charm measures 35 mm in height (around 1.4 inches) including the bail. Excluding the bail, the plan itself measures 29 mm. It is 25 mm at it's widest point across the wings and weighs 4.2 grams.
